Treat it like your hair

Your wig is hair and it needs to be treated like it. You need to wash and condition it like your hair. You should wash and condition it after 7-10 wears or when needed. After you can condition it with our Dazzle Beauty conditioner or whatever you prefer, then rinse and gently blot it dry. Avoid excessive pulling and twisting. You can let it air-dry or blow dry it on a low heat.

For extra care you can deep condition it every 4-6 weeks. Apply a deep conditioner to the ends of a damp wig and cover it with a plastic cap. Leave it on for about 20-30 minutes. Rinse thoroughly and let it air dry.

Storage

It is better to keep your wig on a wig stand or mannequin head to maintain its shape and avoid tangling. If you don’t have enough space, a wig cap or mesh bag works too. Also Store it in a cool place away from the heat. Excessive heat can cause discoloration especially if you have colored or dyed the wig.

Be gentle

For longevity it is important to be gentle when combing or brushing your wig. Use a wide-tooth comb or your fingers to detangle, starting from the tips and working up to the roots. It is a synthetic wig, it’d better to use a detangling spray and avoid pulling too hard. Excessive force will ruin the wig.

Avoiding Product Build-Up

Even though you can wash it, it is better to avoid product build up. Some things can’t be washed out. It is better to avoid heavy products like hair spray or gel, especially if it’s a synthetic wig. A wig made with human hair can withstand the products a little better. Too many products will make your wig stiff and matted. Use light leave-in conditioners and hair serums and avoid products with alcohol. It will only dry out the hair.

Style with Care

Wigs can be styled any way you want with little effort. That’s the beauty of a wig. What is not beautiful is the harshness improper styling can do to them. It is important to use a good heat protectant and low to medium heat when styling your wig. If your wig is synthetic make sure it’s heat friendly.
